  • How much does the ACT test cost?
    • The testing fee to take the ACT on the BHCLR campus is $40.00.
  • I took the ACT or SAT many years ago. Do I need to re-test?
    • Possibly, depending on the program to which you are making application. If you are applying for any Registered Nursing Track or the Practical Nursing program, your score will need to be less than ten (10) years old. If your score is over ten (10) years old, you will need to re-test regardless of any degrees or professional licenses held. If you are making application to any of our other programs, you will not need to re-test due to the age of your score. However, you may prefer to re-test for scholarship or admissions purposes.
  • Do you accept the Compass Test?
    • No. Baptist Health College Little Rock does not accept the Compass Test. The only test that may be substituted for the ACT is the SAT.
  • Does Baptist Health "superscore" the ACT/SAT?
    • No, BHCLR does not “superscore” the ACT or SAT. “Superscore” refers to combining subscores from two or more ACT exams to create a new composite score.
  • How many times may I take the ACT?
    • You may take the ACT a total of 12 times. However, you must wait 60 days between each test.
  • May I use a calculator on the ACT?
    • Yes, you may use a calculator. But, some calculators are prohibited. Click here to see which calculators are prohibited on the ACT.
  • I have taken the ACT multiple times. Will Baptist Health use my most recent test score or my highest test score?
    • Baptist Health will use your highest composite test score for admissions purposes. For nursing applicants, the score must be less than ten (10) years old.
  • Is there any way to prepare for the ACT Exam?
    • There are many study guides available for the test. These can be purchased at any major bookstore. Many libraries will also have study materials available for each test. ACT prep materials can be found online here and here.
  • What do I bring the day of the test?
    • The day of testing, you will need your Photo ID, an ACT approved calculator (if desired) and two #2 pencils. Wear layered, comfortable attire and arrive at least thirty minutes prior to testing.
  • Can I have my score(s) sent to other institutions?
