In support of the BHCLR mission statement, the Financial Aid Office strives to remove financial barriers for current and prospective students and their families by providing financial aid assistance and education in a positive and professional manner. While providing outstanding customer service, we are dedicated to assisting all eligible students and veterans while ensuring we comply with federal, state and institutional guidelines.

Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship

NOTICE: If you are eligible to receive the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship, you must have ACT or SAT test scores on file with the BHCLR Registrar’s Office in order to be awarded the scholarship. The Arkansas Division of Higher Education requires pre-approved exam scores to be reported for students who are receiving this scholarship. Arkansas Future Grant

The Arkansas Future (ArFuture) grant will cover tuition and fees* for qualifying certificate and Associate degree programs. For more information or to apply visit https://sams.adhe.edu/Scholarship/Details/ARFUTURE. The deadline to apply for fall is July 1 and the spring deadline is January 10. BHCLR qualifying programs include the following:

  • Medical Laboratory Science
  • Nursing
  • Patient Care Technician
  • Practical Nursing
  • Radiography
  • Surgical Technology

*ArFuture Grant will be an amount equal to tuition and fees less state, federal, and private grants/scholarships.

BHCLR Academic Scholarship

Students meeting one of the following criteria are awarded a $500 academic scholarship during their first semester:

  • Students with an ACT composite score of 24 or higher.
  • Nursing and Practical Nursing students with a TEAS composite score of 74 or higher*.

*Nursing Traditional Track plus Gen Ed Prep students are not awarded until their Freshman (second) semester.

Baptist Health Foundation Scholarships

BHCLR is grateful to the donors who so generously contribute to the endowed scholarships through the Baptist Health Foundation. Students submitting an application for a scholarship are also required to complete the FAFSA. Scholarships are competitive and are awarded based on availability of funds. Award amounts vary and are based on factors including, but not limited to financial need, program of enrollment, GPA, ACT/TEAS score. Applicants must be in good standing with BHCLR to be considered, and must submit ALL information requested. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Tuition Work Loan Program

Currently, Baptist Health is offering the Work Loan in the following programs:

Medical Laboratory Science
Nursing Accelerated
Nursing Traditional
Patient Care Technician
Radiography
Surgical Technology

The programs in which the work loan is offered is dependent upon the demand of the field. All programs, with the exception of Patient Care Technician, require a three (3) year commitment unless otherwise determined by hospital need at the time of graduation. Patient Care Technician’s commitment is one (1) year. The amount for each semester as well as participation eligibility varies by program.

For all work loans, the commitment requires employment at Baptist Health Little Rock hospital, Baptist Health North Little Rock hospital, Baptist Health Conway hospital or our Baptist Health Fort Smith hospital.

September 18, 2024 2nd Disbursement for Fall Only students (RNA and PN students)

December 13, 2024 Fall Semester classes end (except for OTA and GenEd)
January 6, 2025 Spring Semester classes start (except for OTA and GenEd)
January 22, 2025 2nd Disbursement for all programs (except for GenEd and 30 day delay students)
